Dina’s father was a doctor and the manager of a hospital. In 1923 the family moved to Kassa. In 1931 Dina joined the movement. She studied at the kindergarten teachers’ college in Budapest.
In 1939 she went to a hahshara in Izbég. From 1943 Dina lived in Budapest. After the Germans invaded Hungary on 19.3.1944, she equipped herself with Aryan documents. Her apartment in Budapest served as a meeting place and shelter for the underground activists. Dina saved the two sons of the family, whom she worked for as a nanny, after the mother committed suicide. Dina left Hungary on the Relief and Rescue Committee train.
In September 1945 she arrived in Eretz Israel (Palestine) and joined Kibbutz Ma’anit. She married Moshe Levavi. They left the kibbutz in 1949. Their son, Amit, was killed in the Yom Kippur War. She accompanied her husband who was sent by the Jewish Agency on Zionist missions to Italy, Brazil and France. Dina lived in Jerusalem.
